Announcing the Journal for the Study of Paul & His Letters

As a member of the editorial board of a new journal, I am pleased to announce the launching of the Journal for the Study of Paul and his Letters, edited by Michael Bird and Nijay Gupta. The journal’s website, courtesy of publisher Eisenbrauns, is already up here¬†along with a small sample issue, consisting of an introduction to the journal and an article by Susan Eastman on Philippians 2:6-11. The first full issue will appear next fall, with two contributions by yours truly and of course others.

This should be a great–and affordable–journal, one to which individuals and institutions alike should subscribe.

  1. John Andrew Kossey says:

Volume 1 Number 1 of JSPL arrived in today’s mail (23 September 2011).

This premier issue astonishes in how much clear, consequential, and cutting-edge Pauline scholarship the contributors and editors pack into 136 pages.

I applaud the decision not to review books; including review articles, such as your own of Doug Campbell’s *Deliverance of God*, adds value.

Thanks for publishing your article, “Justification and Justice in in Paul, with Special Reference to the Corinthians,” in this issue.

When you find opportunity, I’d appreciate learning a few highlights of your role on the JSPL editorial board.

    –John

Glad you like issue 1.1, John!

My role (and that of all of us on the editorial board) is to propose topics, contributors, and papers; blind-review submissions; help guide the direction of the journal; and occasionally write for it. I was asked by the two main editors to make these two contributions to the first issue.
